Friday Photos: Winter Wonderlands

I'm the first to admit it...I don't live where there's much of a winter. But that makes it all the more fun to occasionally visit and admit the beauty that snow brings. In the spirit of the holidays, winter solstice, and the generally fun stuff that happens this time of year in the northern hemisphere, enjoy some pictures of winter, from some trips we've taken in years past.

Marshmallows?
Winter coastline
Half-frozen harbor
Ice fishing in Maine
Needs insulation
Looking out at winter

Hope you enjoyed the little romp through winter!

  2. Absolutely beautiful!

We, too, didn't leave where there was much winter and when we did get something it was usually ICE. :( This year we moved to the northern part of the state to the Ozark Mountains so I've got great hopes to see some pretty snow. In fact, they are saying we should get some next week. First they said on Christmas which would have been my first white Christmas, but now they have pushed it forward a few days. Either way, I'll take it!

    1. I've had very few white Christmases in my life. No doubt some when I was very small and we lived in colder places, and maybe one or two when I was growing up in Puget Sound? I'll have to ask Mom!

  3. I'm not a fan of the cold (why am I living in Michigan then???) but I love how winter looks. It's beautiful.

    1. Yes, if you dislike cold, you may, just MAY be living in the wrong place! I'm actually pretty good with cold--I like it better than hot weather (which I think you also get...). But I've gotten pretty soft after decades in CA :)

  4. Snow is pretty and very festive this time of year, but I have to say that I'm glad I don't live in a wintry environment anymore. Have a lovely Christmas and a happy New Year!
