S is for Simon Sharp, of The Camelot Kids by Ben Zackheim
In a nutshell: Simon is a stubborn, independent, resourceful kid -- mostly because his luck runs the gamut. His best days can end up as his worst days. And his closest friends can be his greatest enemies. His biggest secret is that he's the reincarnation of a Knight of the Round Table.

I reviewed this one recently, and found it a highly enjoyable read.

What a creative story and I really like the cover - it's very inviting. I'll have to check out this author! Found you through the A to Z Challenge. Have a great weekend. www.dianeweidenbenner.com
ReplyDeleteBen is a great writer! His "Shirley Link" series are great detective stories for kids. They are short, but not written for beginning readers--just really good upper-elementary stories that don't go on for hundreds of pages :) This one is really 4 books rolled into one, though I personally couldn't have read just one of the books.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
Haven't heard of this author or his books before but sound just the ticket to get children hooked on reading. Lovely to meet via the A-Z Challenge :) http://pempispalace.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/s-is-for-solitary-sapien-solar-system.html
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a good choice for kids who liked Harry Potter and maybe especially Percy Jackson. And I love your name. Cat Herder...before I check out your blog, I'm guessing parent of small children :D
DeleteI've not quite finished it... I think I may have read your review before you nominated it for the GMGR, but I'm enjoying the book a lot - just wish I had more time this month!
ReplyDeleteIt's tough to get through much this month.
DeleteJust finished it - throughly enjoyable! I'll go read your review now.
DeleteReincarnation is intriguing, but I believe in it.
ReplyDeleteDoes Simon Sharp know that he's the reincarnated version?
That's his secret. That means he is very much aware! Correct me if I am wrong.
Interesting :)
Well, let's just say that it's something he has to learn. And then learn how to deal with it.
DeleteVery cool book that would have hooked an adolescent me. Who am I kidding! I still think much the same way.
ReplyDeleteSo get a copy and check it out. The ebook is only 99 cents until the end of the month ;)
