This month's prompt is A Marriage of Convenience. I hope I did it justice. Actually, I totally cheated. This is non-fiction.
A Marriage of Convenience
Dad said he married Mom for her snow tires, or maybe it was
the cute Simca she drove. Then he’d kiss her.
I like to claim I married my husband for his health
insurance. We are still married.
Sometimes convenience is a good excuse for a long and happy marriage.

Love it - and who's to say whether it's truth or fiction? :)
ReplyDeleteI must remember to ask Mom if it was the car or the snow tires. I think it was the car. They sold the snow tires to pay for my oldest brother's birth, I think. Mom??
DeleteMom couldn't make it post, but says:
DeleteHe had the Simca; I had the car with the snow tires. We sold my car and kept the baby. And stayed married "'til death did us part".
