May I Suggest. . . Giveaway Hop

May-I-Suggest-Giveaway-Hop
Just for fun, I decided to join StuckInBooks for the Amazing Books May I Suggest Giveaway hop, running from now to the 16th of May.
This isn't about promoting my own books, but sharing something I've read and thought was well, amazing.  At the least, jolly good fun to read (right now I'm more into "I had a good time reading that" than "oooh, that should get the Pulitzer".  So sue me.  I'm tired).  So I've been thinking about books that I've read, books I've really enjoyed by writers you may or may not know.  For that reason I'm not giving away either of the probably two best books I've read this spring, Wonder by R. J. Palacio among middle-grade books, and Sweet Thunder by Ivan Doig, for adult books.  They get enough attention.

No, I'm giving away a book from a series that I'm loving more with each entry, and I'm giving away the book I'm currently in the middle of reading, both because I'm loving it and because it stands on its own very well, even though it's not the first in the series.

Final_TalentSeekers_01Jemima Pett in her Princelings of the East books has created a world that is something like Pern meets the Wind in the Willows, and her guinea pig heroes are both bold and charming.  And perhaps the boldest (because even though he feels timid, he has so far to come to boldness!) is Humphrey, hero of The Talent Seekers

So, because Humphrey is brave and venturesome (even if he doesn't have much choice about it!) I am giving away a copy of The Talent Seekers.

    1. I hope you win! Her books are delightful, and I have to say as I'm working my way through the series that I'm liking each one more than the others. Talent Seekers is keeping up with the pattern (I'm nearly done now).
