Mine too! That was a magical moment--and of about 30 people camped at the lake, my husband and I were the ONLY ones who got up to see it. Sorta sad, in a way, but we enjoyed the solitude with beauty.

DeleteNice pix. We went through Palo Duro Canyon last year and got some great pictures. This sorta reminded me of them.

ReplyDeleteWell worth the trip, wherever you are from! Best of course if you can hike, but there are a lot of amazing views in the Rockies that you can see without being able to backpack the way we do.
DeleteLove it! I grew up in the foothills of the mountains, and some days I really miss it. They are breathtaking, challenging, and protective. (Not to mention I always knew which direction was which.) *sigh* We've got beaches now. Not quite as cool (literally), but they'll do.
ReplyDeleteBeaches are great, too. I live by the ocean (more or less), but I love my mountains. I hope I never have to choose completely between them.

ReplyDeleteWe were blown away. Our first hike was a "nothing much" hike in Glacier Natl. Park of Canada (a minor park) and it knocked our socks off. So we knew it was going to be good!
DeleteI have the first two in my collection, too - and the last one looks like the same mountain of my 'leaving' pics. Didn't go that high, though. The sunrise pic is amazing - one of those things that everyone else is jealous of :)

The last one? The mountain behind the ice cream truck? That is whatever hangs over the dinky town of Field in Yoho NP.
DeleteWe drove through the Rockies from Vancouver to Jasper to Banff to Calgary about 10 years ago. It's a beautiful part of the world. Can't wait to do it again someday.
